Isdefe will take part in UNVEX 2016 with one presentation

As part of the conferences scheduled for the UNVEX 2016 Expo, to be held at the Cuatro Vientos Airport in Madrid from May 24 to 26, Carlos Regidor, Head of the Transport Quality and Testing Department at Isdefe, along with INTA R&D engineer María Vega, will give a presentation on May 25 at 3:30 PM on “DEMORPAS, project to integrate RPAs in ATM”, part of the roundtable on “Research and Development”.

Part of the SESAR (Single European Sky ATM Research) programme, the DEMORPAS project has been developed by a multidisciplinary consortium led by Isdefe, and which includes ENAIRE, CRIDA, FADA-CATEC and INTA, as well as the Spanish Air Force.

The DEMORPAS project is a European initiative to demonstrate the viability of integrating remotely-piloted aircraft (RPAs) into general air traffic. After almost two years of preparation, two experiments were conducted that yielded some relevant findings concerning viable interactions between RPAs and crewed aircraft in shared airspace.

The DEMORPAS project culminated with the final analysis and presentation of results to SESAR programme representatives. Presentations were also given at various national and international gatherings, including UNVEX.

Over the course of three days, UNVEX offers exhibits, demonstrations and conferences on technology trends, research projects and solutions that national and international agents in the field (industry, defence and civilian research centres, academia, etc.) are proposing involving remotely-piloted air systems, commonly referred to as UAS, RPAs or drones. The presentation by Carlos Regidor and María Vega from INTA thus takes on special significance in an area in which a standard legal framework and the safe integration of airspace is essential to the development of these systems and their applications.
