Partnership Agreement between the Norwegian Institute of Systems Engineering (NISE) and Isdefe

The Prorector of the University College of Southeast Norway, Mr. Nils Kristian Bogen, and Isdefe’s Director of Business Development, Mr. Jesús Alonso Martín, signed a Partnership Agreement on June 7th in Konsberg that will allow both organisations, along with the university’s own Norwegian Institute of Systems Engineering (NISE), to carry out joint activities in the area of Systems Engineering.

The agreement between Isdefe and NISE will lead to the creation of an Observatory on systems engineering that will research the state of the art in systems engineering, programme management and logistics. The initial work plan for the Observatory includes the creation of a knowledge repository on systems engineering and establishing a series of performance indicators (KPIs). The Observatory will also engage in educational and training activities intended to disseminate interesting content and to transform it into knowledge that can be used by the organisation. It will also organise forums and workshops promoting the discipline.

Over the years the Norwegian Institute of Systems Engineering has endorsed a wide-ranging programme of industrial collaboration, gaining a great deal of systems engineering knowledge applicable to various sectors and developing a highly trained staff in the process. This initiative is part of Isdefe’s “Horizons Network” Project, which was designed to provide an idea laboratory, supported by several university research groups, in which to conduct technology foresight work in the areas of defence and security, cyberdefence, air navigation, space, economy and public sector management.
