Space exploration on debate at the Universidad de León

The summer course on Space Exploration: A Scientific – Technological View was held on 6-7 July at the Universidad de León. This event, which was open to everyone interested in learning about this subject, was attended by over 750 students and was opened by the dean of this university, Juan Francisco García Marín.

The goal of this course was to disseminate the basic elements of space exploration from different perspectives. It provided complementary visions on the scientific, technological and organizational aspects of this activity. It also featured a debate on Spain’s participation in this field and on the main organizations that support it.

The participants were able to gain insight into the scientific curiosity that drives space exploration and on its future technological challenges.

Present at this educational event were leading specialists in the field, who offered their vision and experience. Isdefe took part in the programme for this course with a presentation on Deep-Space Networks by Isaac Domínguez Santos, Director of Space Stations.

Isdefe has 25 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of space centres. As a result, it is an active partner in aerospace training programmes, promoting the exchange of knowledge and technical innovation.
